Where did you learn the basics of running a business?
I learnt the basics of running a business when I was educated in Wharton Business School of University of Pennsylvania. The business models taught in the college resembled the one in the real world. After graduated, I learnt from my experience during handling different projects in JP Morgan and K K Yeung Management Consultants Limited.
Whom did you work with before becoming a consultant?
I worked in the Financial Group of JP Morgan & Co., in both its Singapore and Hong Kong office, to support the Regional Financial Controller in special projects including the design and implementation of location management reporting, business reengineering, economic substantiation analysis, revenue-cost analysis and budget planning.
What will you do in ten years?
I will still be a consultant and expand the consulting service in the Mainland China. As China develops very quickly, the demand of the business expansion in China for European companies and the demand of foreign capital for development of China are increasing at the same time. Consulting service works as bridge between Europe and China, can benefits both of the European investment and Chinese development, which is very meaningful.
What kind of people do you like to work with?
I prefer to work with people who are optimistic and motivated, always have particular ideas and never give up while facing adversity.
Is there someone whom you would describe as intelligent?
In my point of view, intelligent people refer to who can use their talent effectively, who can show the confidence to achieve his/her own goals and who can quickly adapt the changing environment.
After working many years as a consultant you managed many projects. Are there really special ones among them?
Two projects are quite special to me
(1) Provide professional service to one of the largest luminaries companies in China
Conduct research and SWOT analysis on the top 50 luminaries companies in China; provide strategic advisory on the client’s growth in sales through acquisition.
(2) Work for Hong Kong Tourism Commission to conduct research on tourist’s perspective of the quality of service offered by tourism. Opinion from the tourist was quite special.
Why is your company a member of IMCN?
IMCN provides a network for our company to work for European companies cognisant of seeking opportunities to expand their business in the Asia Pacific territories especially in China.
